What the TRE 3.0 GS Papers Tell Us
- Length: Class 6–12 papers had 40 GS questions (Q31–70). The Class 1–5 paper had 120 (Q31–150).
- Five options: almost every question has (D) ‘More than one of the above’ and (E) ‘None of the above’. Across all 278 scored questions, 46 answers (17%) were (D) or (E), and 20 were (E). Don’t treat them as fillers.
- Deleted questions: BPSC removed 2 questions in its final keys; they are marked on each paper’s page.
- Bihar focus: every paper has questions on Bihar’s districts, economy, history and leaders.
- Topics: arithmetic and basic maths, physics, chemistry, biology, Indian and world geography, the national movement, polity and recent current affairs.

- Start with the paper for your class level, then do the others: topics repeat across levels.
- Time yourself: about 1 minute per question.
- Read the explanation for every question you get wrong, and for every (D) or (E) answer.

In TRE 3.0, Class 6–12 papers had 40 GS questions and the Class 1–5 paper had 120.
Is there negative marking in BPSC TRE?
No negative marking was applied in BPSC TRE 3.0. Check the TRE 4.0 notification for the current rules.
When is the BPSC TRE 4.0 exam?
BPSC has not announced it yet. Applications under Advt. No. 15/2026 close on 3 November 2026.
