BPSC 72nd CCE Exam Pattern
The selection process has three stages. Here’s what each one covers.
1. Preliminary Exam
One General Studies paper of 150 marks, objective (MCQ) type, 2 hours duration. 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer. This stage is only for screening — marks aren’t counted in final merit.
2. Mains Exam
Descriptive/written papers including General Studies Paper I (300 marks) and a compulsory language paper, along with an optional subject depending on the post applied for.
3. Interview
A personality test conducted for candidates who clear the Mains. Final merit is based on Mains + Interview marks — Prelims marks are not added.
